IGORA, Leningrad region, June 22 (Itar-Tass) — President Vladimir Putin does not rule out a second wave of the global financial crisis.

“We should hope for the best but be prepared for anything,” he said. “We should not focus on global economic apocalypses; let us work and hope things will improve instead of getting worse.”

He said Russia was preparing for various scenarios. “We are upgrading anti-crisis measures, accumulating resources, implementing a long-term development program and broadening relations with neighbors, such as Finland. I am confident that joint work adds stability to the global, European and bilateral economic systems,” Putin said.
