Sukhoi Superjet returns to Moscow because of air conditioning failure
The temperature meter failure poses no threat to flight safety because a second set of the air conditioning system operated normally
MOSCOW, June 19 (Itar-Tass) — A Sikhoi Superjet-100 passenger plane owned by the Aeroflot airlines, which was to fly to Copenhagen on Monday night, returned to Sheremetyevo airport in Moscow because of a failure of air temperature meter in the air conditioning system.
When the Sukhoi Superjet-100 (board demarcation number RA89008) was on the way to Copenhagen a temperature meter of the Sukhoi Superjet 100 air conditioning system failed. The temperature meter failure poses no threat to flight safety because a second set of the air conditioning system operated normally.
Nevertheless a decision was made on return of the flight to Moscow, a source from the Sukhoi Joint Aircraft building Corporation told Itar-Tass.
The defect found on board will be eliminated on Tuesday afternoon, it said.
