GORKI, May 2 (Itar-Tass) —— Russian President Dmitry Medvedev signed the law on gubernatorial elections.

“This law enters into force and from now on all top officials in the federal constituents of our country will be elected in a direct, equal and secret ballot by all citizens, who live in the federal constituent,” he said at a meeting with the leaders of the State Duma parties and factions on Wednesday.
