Ex-minister appointed acting governor of Perm territory

The acting governor didn’t contact the press on Sunday

PERM, April 30 (Itar-Tass) — Viktor Basargin, the acting governor of the Perm territory, came into office on Sunday, having replaced his predecessor Oleg Chirkunov, the gubernatorial press service reports.

“Viktor Basargin arrived in Perm where he took over from Oleg Chirkunov. After that, he spent the whole day meeting with the administration’s employees and other regional officials,” Inna Skrypnichenko, the head of the gubernatorial press service, told Itar-Tass.

The acting governor didn’t contact the press on Sunday.

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev accepted the resignation of Oleg Chirkunov, the governor of the Perm territory, at his own request on April 28.

Medvedev relieved Viktor Basargin of his post of Russian minister of regional development and appointed him the acting governor of the Perm territory.
