ULAN UDE, April 26 (Itar-Tass) — A cottage community and a meteo station have burned down in a steppe fire in Mogochinsk District of Zabaikalye (trans-Baikal area). The incident, the consequences of which became known on Thursday, had occurred on Monday. A municipality source has told Itar-Tass, "Sixteen houses have burned down in Chasovoy cottage community. No one was hurt".

The Russian Ministry for Emergencies' center for Zabaikalye confirmed the information.

Local residents point out in their blogs that all belongings of the cottagers burned up.
