Syrian FM arrives in Moscow

Muallem will brief Lavrov on the Syria’s compliance with “six-point” plan proposed by Joint U.N. and LAS Envoy Kofi Anan

MOSCOW, April 9 (Itar-Tass) —— Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Muallem has arrived in Moscow.

He is scheduled to have talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on April 10.

Muallem will brief Lavrov on the Syria’s compliance with “six-point” plan proposed by Joint U.N. and LAS Envoy Kofi Anan.

April 10 is the deadline for the withdrawal by the Syrian government of its troops and heavy weapons from cities and populated localities.

According to the Annan plan, 48 hours after that, by 7:00 Moscow time April 12, all parties to the conflict – the government and the opposition – should stop all violence in the country.
