A presidential candidate in South Ossetia and republican ambassador in Russia Dmitry Medoyev stated that threats are coming against him

TSKHINVAL, March 16 (Itar-Tass) —— A presidential candidate in South Ossetia and republican ambassador in Russia Dmitry Medoyev stated that threats are coming against him. The presidential candidate filed a report in the name of Interior Minister Valery Valiyev and said that anonymous threats are coming against him with the recommendations to leave South Ossetia or refuse from the participation in the elections.

“If I do not fulfil the demands of unnamed blackmailers, they promised to create serious problems with my relatives and threatened to spread false rumours with libel about me, after which, according to them, I will run away from the republic,” the report runs.

Medoyev links the threats with his recent statement broadcast live on the Ir state television and radio broadcasting company, when he warned about a probable disruption of the elections on March 25 and the need of the resignation of Prosecutor General Taimuraz Khugayev.
