Vnesheconombank to give loan for building alpine skiing resort in Chechnya.
The hotel will be divided into 20 chalets
GROZNY, March 13 (Itar-Tass) —— Vnesheconombank will give a loan of up to 10.2 billion rubles for building the Veduchi all-season alpine skiing resort in the Itum-Kale district of Chechnya, the republican press service said on Tuesday.
The project will be fulfilled within two years. There will be 400 hotel rooms of the standard, deluxe and presidential class. Ropeways will bring tourists directly from the hotel to the mountain top. The main skiing tracks will be built on Donedukkh Ridge. In all, there will be 19 skiing tracks with the total length exceeding 46 kilometers. The tallest ride will begin from the altitude of 3,500 meters above the sea level.
The hotel will be divided into 20 chalets, and a large spa center will open in the middle. There will be a horse riding hall, cafes, restaurants and an open-air skating rink. Skiing will be possible from November to April, and mountain trekking will be offered in spring and summer.
Chechen head Ramzan Kadyrov thinks that the large construction site in the republic will play a big role in the development of the North Caucasian tourism cluster. “The project will have an impressive scale and a broad range of services. I am confident that our mountains will draw hundreds and thousands of tourists from the whole world very soon,” he said.
The construction of five alpine skiing resorts in the North Caucasus – Matlas in Dagestan, Mamison in North Ossetia, Arkhyz in Karachayevo-Cherkessia, Lagonaki in the Krasnodar territory and Adygeya and Elbrus in Kabardino-Balkaria – is a priority project of the federal authorities. There will be also modern spa and beach clusters. The alpine skiing tracks will be 1,100 kilometers long. There will be 227 ropeways and hotels for 102,500 people. The resorts may daily draw 172,000 tourists.
