In 2011, Kyrgyzstan exported 20.24 tons of gold worth over 1.6 billion dollars
BISHKEK, March 6 (Itar-Tass) —— In 2011, Kyrgyzstan exported 20.24 tons of gold worth over 1.6 billion dollars, the State Customs Service of the republic reports.
According to the service, in January-December 2011, Kyrgyzstan imported 5.38 tons of jewelry worth 4.18 million dollars, 30 kilograms of gold worth 205,000 dollars and 48 precious and semi-precious stones worth 6,900 dollars.
Kyrgyzstan’s gold reserves are equal to 1,000 tons. The annual export of precious metal amounts to about 20 tons.
