KIEV, February 17 (Itar-Tass) —— No precious metals were used to decorate the interior of the Airbus A319-115 XCJ jetliner of the Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovich, the presidential press service said on Friday referring to Acting General Director of the Ukraine State Airline Sergei Guban.

The press service thus refuted local media reports claiming that gold and other precious metals decorated the presidential plane.

The jetliner was purchased in October 2007 and sent to Dallas for upgrading its interior. The jetliner was returned to Kiev in June 2010.

“Standard materials permitted for use in jetliners by the international security rules were applied in decoration of the plane interior. The interior is beige with aluminum structures, some of them with yellow spattering,” Guban said. “The jetliner cabin is divided into several zones, including those for the VIP passengers, delegation members and accompanying officials. The presidential compartment comprises a nine-square-meter office, a chill-out room of two to 2.5 meters, and a restroom, he said.
