Romania's Prime Minister Emil Boc resigned to defuse political and social tensions in the country
BUCHAREST, February 6. (ITAR-TASS). Romania's Prime Minister Emil Boc resigned today in order to defuse political and social tension in the country after weeks of nationwise anti-governmental protests. "I'm leaving because I do not intend to cling to power and remain in office until the upcoming November elections. I did this not only to defuse social tension, but in order not to damage the economic stability of the country," - said Boc.
He urged the MPs to approve a new cabinet quickly and thanked for the confidence of their colleagues and the country's president Traian Basescu.
