Medvedev toughens admin responsibility for civil defence crimes

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev signed the federal law on amendments in Articles 20.6 and Article 20.7 of the Russian Administrative Offence Code

MOSCOW, November 9 (Itar-Tass) — Russian President Dmitry Medvedev signed the federal law on amendments in Articles 20.6 and Article 20.7 of the Russian Administrative Offence Code, the presidential press service reported on Wednesday.

The federal law was enacted for a tougher administrative responsibility for the offences in the protection of people and territories from emergency situations and in civil defence.

The federal law introduced the following amendments in the Administrative Offence Code: the sanctions of Article 20.6 Part 1 and 2 for the non-fulfillment of the requirements to prevent and eliminate emergency situations exceeded administrative fines and Article 20.7 for violations of the civil defence rules was laid down in a new reading.
