BISHKEK, October 27 (Itar-Tass) —— Russia is a guarantor of security In the Central Asian region, Kyrgyzstan’s Acting Prime Minister, First Deputy Prime Minister Omurbek Babanov told Itar-Tass on Thursday.
Regardless of which of the candidates win the presidential election in the republic due on October 30, the country will any way develop and expand its partnership with the Russian Federation, he said.
“There is no alternative to it either from the political or economical point of view,” Babanov said. “Look, our social polls show that 97 percent believe that in future the republic should develop cooperation with the Russian Federation and almost 100 percent of our people share good attitude to it.”
In this situation, Kyrgyzstan’s new president must be “a political suicide-murderer to act against the people’s mood,” he said.
“Besides, Russia is a guarantor of peace and stability in the region, and this factor is of no small importance,” he added.
