ST. PETERSBURG, October 16 (Itar-Tass) —— Young hooligans hoisted the Jolly Roger flag on the Aurora cruiser here on Sunday.

Young hooligans went aboard the cruiser museum as tourists on Sunday morning, the local law enforcement agencies reported. Separating into two groups they attempted to climb the cruiser masts. The Aurora crew detained the first group of five hooligans. The pirate flag and the pieces of metal tubes were confiscated from them. The detainees were brought to the police station. However, two young men and a young woman managed to climb the mast and hoist the Jolly Roger.

The rescuers are seeking to talk the young hooligans into going down, but in vain so far, the deputy chief of the information and public relations department of the police force in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region, Elmar Shakhirzayev said.

The so-called anarchist groups People’s Will and Food Instead of Bombs assumed responsibility for the act of hooliganism. They did not confess in the crime.
