The causes of the off-normal launch have been exposed

MOSCOW, October 4 (Itar-Tass) —— The state commission has exposed the cause of the off-normal launch of a Rokot rocket in February 2011, Space Forces Commander Lt. Gen. Oleg Ostapenko told a Tuesday press conference.

Itar-Tass asked the general when launches of Rokot rockets from Plesetsk might resume. The launches were suspended in February following the unsuccessful positioning of the Geo-IK2 satellite.

“The work is almost done,” Ostapenko said. “The causes of the off-normal launch have been exposed. The state commission will convene next week, and we will present our proposals on the further use of this launch vehicle after that.”
