MOSCOW, September 28 (Itar-Tass) — Head of Russia’s anti-monopoly authority Igor Artemyev said on Wednesday he supported national rallies in protest of high gasoline prices.

“I have never been irritated about such actions, and I think they are worthy of respect because they help us support such initiatives,” he said delivering a speech at a session of the Russian Federation Council, or upper parliament house. “As a matter of fact, the current situation really arouses worries, especially from our car owners, and it is quite understandable. Moreover, it is very difficult for business to calculate their budgets if prices for oil products are that high, it may even entail the reduction of jobs. I believe we all should response to this situation through taking adequate measures.”
