Five injured in gas explosion in western Ukraine

Rescuers and police are working at the scene of the incident

KIEV, August 29 (Itar-Tass) —— A powerful explosion was reported in the city of Uzhgorod, Western Ukraine, on Monday, August 29.

The Emergencies Ministry said the explosion was caused by a gas leak from a damages gas pipe in one of the city streets.

At least five people were injured, and a fire started in one of the local cafes. All injured people with burns of various degrees were hospitalised.

Rescuers and police are working at the scene of the incident.
