Russia’s UN envoy admits he does not know how to use Twitter

"I don't have any idea how to tweet," Vasily Nebenzya said

UN, April 13. /TASS/. Russia’s UN envoy, Vasily Nebenzya, admitted on Thursday that he had no idea of how to use the Twitter microblog service.

The statement was made in response to a reporter’s question of what message would the Russian diplomat send on Twitter to US President Donald Trump, who came up with a series of belligerent tweets on his account in recent days.

"I don't have any idea how to tweet," Nebenzya said, laughing.

Bolivia’s UN ambassador Sacha Llorentty, who was near the Russian diplomat at the moment, jokingly suggested sending "a link of the UN Charter" to the US leader.

The UN Security Council held a meeting behind closed doors on Thursday to discuss the situation in Syria and US President Donald Trump’s threats against the Syrian government. On Monday, he said that Washington had "a lot of options militarily" on Syria in light of an alleged chemical weapons attack in the Syrian town of Douma on April 7. Both Russia and Bolivia see those threats as a direct violation of the UN Charter.

The US president, who has 50 million Twitter followers, regularly comments on foreign policy issues in his account.
