On Easter Sunday, the Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked the positions of the Donetsk People’s Republic, killing two DPR fighters, said the republic’s defense representative

DONETSK, April 9. /TASS/. On Easter Sunday, the Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked the positions of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) near Gorlovka, killing two DPR fighters, said Eduard Basurin, the republic’s defense representative.

"Yesterday, at 19:30, a Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance team attacked our positions near Zaytsevo on the road to Gorlovka in order to snatch a prisoner. The attack was repelled," Donetsk News Agency reported his quote.

According to Basurin, two Ukrainian soldiers died in the attack, four were injured. "Unfortunately, two of our fighters also died in the attack," the defense representative added.

On the eve of the attack, DPR officials stated that a Ukrainian special forces’ sabotage team had arrived in the region near Gorlovka. According to intelligence data, the team’s aim was to carry out acts of sabotage in the area.

On March 30, a professed Easter ceasefire was proclaimed in Donbass at the initiative of DPR’s and LPR’s leaders. However, just like last time, the attacks have not fully ceased. On the morning of March 30, the conflicting sides had already blamed each other for disrupting the ceasefire.
