THE HAGUE, April 4. /TASS/. The Executive Council of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) has not backed Russia’s proposal for the investigation into the Salisbury attack, a diplomatic source with one of the delegations told TASS on Wednesday.
"Russia’s proposal has not been supported," he said.
Earlier, Russia’s embassy to the Netherlands wrote on Twitter that 14 countries backed the Russian proposal. Besides Russia, among them are Iran, Venezuela, Cuba, Syria, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Pakistan and Nicaragua.
The OPCW Executive Counties consists of 41 members and generally takes "decisions on matters of substance by a two-thirds majority vote."
