THE HAGUE, March 30. /TASS/. The Executive Council of the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) will meet on April 4, the OPCW press service told TASS on Friday.

According to the press service, the meeting will take place on April 4 and will be closed for the media. The OPCW press service did not provide any more details on this issue.

On Thursday, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that Russia is convening a special session of the OPCW Executive Council over the poisoning case of former colonel of Russia’s Main Intelligence Directorate Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia.

On March 4, former Russian intelligence officer and convicted British spy Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia were allegedly poisoned with a nerve agent, according to British investigators. Later London stated that this agent was designed in Russia and blamed Moscow for being behind the incident based on this assumption. The Russian side refuted all accusations, saying that neither the Soviet Union, nor Russia had any programs for developing this agent.
