Over 35,000 refugees return to Syria's Aleppo, Deir ez-Zor provinces

Civilians continue to return to their homes all across the country, according to the Russian general

MOSCOW, March 30. /TASS/. Over 35,000 refugees have returned to the provinces of Aleppo and Deir ez-Zor with the assistance of the Center for the Reconciliation of the Warring Sides in Syria, Head of the Russian General Staff’s Main Operations Department Colonel-General Sergei Rudskoy said on Friday.

Civilians continue to return to their homes all across Syria, the general said.

"A total of 3,870 people have returned to the Aleppo province from the Idlib de-escalation zone through the humanitarian corridor near the communities of Abu-Duhur and Tell Sultan. Work is underway to restore life support facilities in the province of Deir ez-Zor under the control of the Committee for the Governance of the Eastern Territories and with the assistance of the Center for the Reconciliation of the Warring Sides," he said.

According to the general, 31,171 refugees have returned to the eastern bank of the Euphrates River.

As of now, 2,484 communities have joined the reconciliation process, the general said. "A total of 234 statements on the cessation of hostilities have been signed with the leaders of armed formations and sent to the Russian Center for Reconciliation," Rudskoy said.
