Normandy Quartet leaders welcome Easter ceasefire agreement

They stressed that the ceasefire must be strictly observed

MOSCOW, March 29. /TASS/. The Normandy Quartet leaders - Vladimir Putin, Angela Merkel, Emmanuel Macron and Pyotr Poroshenko - welcome the agreement to declare an Easter ceasefire in Ukraine, the Kremlin press service said in a statement.

"They welcomed the agreement on declaring a ceasefire on the occasion of Easter, which was made at the March 23 meeting of the trilateral Contact Group and would come into effect on March 30," the statement reads. "They also stressed that the ceasefire must be strictly observed, while the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission must monitor it," the Kremlin press service added.
