US expresses condolences to Russia over tragedy in Siberian city

WASHINGTON, March 26. /TASS/. The US has expressed condolences in connection with Sunday's fire in a shopping mall in the Siberian city of Kemerovo that claimed the lives of more than 60 people, a high-rank US Administration official said during a telephone briefing with reporters.

He said the reports on what had happened in Kemerovo on Sunday were heartbreaking.

Fire broke out on the fourth story of the Zimnyaya Vishnya shopping center in Kemerovo on Sunday when the facility was crowded with visitors, many of them with children as a spring school vacation is underway in Russia. More than 60 people died and 50 others turned for medical aid.
