HAVANA, December 22. /TASS/. During his address the country’s unicameral parliament on Thursday, Cuban leader Raul Castro confirmed he will resign from his post in April 2018.
"When the new National Assembly is formed on April 19, my second and last term as the head of state and government will be over. Cuba will get a new leader," the Juventud Rebelde newspaper quoted 86-year-old Castro as saying.
Raul Castro has led the country since 2006, after his elder brother Fidel stepped down citing health reasons.
