Geneva reconciliation process in danger — Syrian opposition

The opposition's chief negotiator added that the opposition was ready to continue efforts to settle the Syrian conflict

GENEVA, December 15. /TASS/. The Geneva process to settle the conflict in Syria is in danger due to the governmental delegation’s refusal to engage in constructive talks, Syrian opposition’s top negotiator Naser al-Hariri said after the eighth round of talks ended in Geneva.

"It takes two sides to negotiate, and you could see that there was only one in Geneva," he said. "The governmental delegation is engaged in disrupting the Geneva talks, which are now in danger."

The negotiator added that the opposition was ready to continue efforts to settle the Syrian conflict. At the same time, he doubted success of the talks.

"The dates of the new round are yet to be set," he said. "But I don’t think it will have any effect."
