Radicals demand NewsOne TV change information policy

All employees can leave the building via another exit - four exits are not blocked

KIEV, December 3. /TASS/. A group of men in military uniforms who blocked the building of the Kiev-based NewsOne television channel on Sunday demand journalists change the policy of news coverage.

"Our action symbolized a checkpoint at the frontline, a checkpoint that stops enemies from the other side. Our checkpoint too is meant to stop enemies working at the television channel. Naturally, it is only a symbol but we want to draw your attention to the fact that we are in a state of war and when we are in a state of war the television channel must conduct a pro-Ukrainian policy," one of the radicals, Alexei Serdyuk, said in a live broadcast.

Currently, in his words, the television company’s employees can freely access the building. "All employees can leave the building via another exit - four exits are not blocked, we leave them open," he said.

NewsOne said earlier on its website that a group of men in military uniforms had blocked the building, with more than 150 people staying inside. A TV host said in a live broadcast that one of the television channel’s employees had felt sick but an ambulance car could not drive to the building as the access was blocked.

The TV company says it thinks the situation stems from the fact that only NewsOne was providing coverage of the March for Impeachment organized by former governor of the Odessa Region and now the leader of the Movement of New Forces, Mikhail Saakashvili.
