Building of Kiev-based NewsOne TV channel blocked by people in uniform

"A truck loaded with sacks containing something we don’t know what drove to the television channel’s building," the company said

KIEV, December 3. /TASS/. A group of men in military uniforms have blocked the building of the Ukrainian NewsOne television channel in Kiev, journalists call on the police to interfere, the TV company said on its website on Sunday.

"A truck loaded with sacks containing something we don’t know what drove to the television channel’s building. People who call themselves activists are refusing to comment and say nothing about the purposes of their actions," the company said, adding that the entryway to the building had been blocked by barbed wire.

One of the television channel’s employees felt sick, a TV host said in a live broadcast. "He is critical condition but an ambulance car cannot drive to the building as the access in blocked," she said.

The TV company says it thinks the situation stems from the fact that only NewsOne was providing coverage of the March for Impeachment organized by former governor of the Odessa Region and now the leader pf the New Forces Movement, Mikhail Saakashvili.

In all, more than 150 people are blocked inside the building.
