Russian officers deliver 250 food kits to village in Syria’s Aleppo province

Over the past 24 hours, 47 refugees returned to their homes, including 31 people in the Aleppo province and 16 more in the Homs province

KHMEIMIM /Syria/, November 25. /TASS/. Russian military officers have delivered 250 food kits to residents of the populated locality of Maran in Syria’s Aleppo province in the past 24 hours, said Sergei Kuralenko, the chief of the Russian center for reconciliation of opposing sides in Syria.

The Russian reconciliation center found out that "in the settlement of Maran (Aleppo province) part of buildings had been destroyed by terrorists, citizens were cut off power and water supplies, most of the residents were not in stable employment."

At least 250 food kits (rice, flour, canned meat and sugar) were distributed among the residents.

Over the past 24 hours, 47 refugees returned to their homes, including 31 people in the Aleppo province and 16 more in the Homs province, according to the center.

Besides, the cessation of hostilities agreements were signed with three settlements in the Aleppo province and the populated locality of Dalbuz, Homs province.

Monitoring the Southern de-escalation zone, Russian officers revealed that fighters of the Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist group (outlawed in Russia) operated near the locality of Beyjin stirring up tensions in the area.

"Up to now, the opposition has not taken any measures in the region to battle terrorists in the Southern de-escalation zone," Kuralenko added.

The Russian Defense Ministry declared the establishment of the reconciliation center on February 23, 2016. It is headquartered at the Khmeimim air base, Latakia province. The center was set up in line with agreements reached by Russia and the United States to facilitate the negotiations between the Syrian government and opposition and to organize humanitarian deliveries.
