3,000 hot meals distributed among civilians in Aleppo by Russian military

As many as 3,350 people received humanitarian aid during the day

HMEYMIM /Syria/, April 6. /TASS/. Six humanitarian operations were conducted during the past day by officers of the Russian center for reconciliation of the warring parties in Syria.

"Some 3,000 hot meals rations and bread were distributed among people in Aleppo’s districts of Jabal Bardo, Asiliya, Haidariya, Al Hamdaniya-3, Ashrafiya and Sheikh Saeed. As many as 3,350 people received humanitarian aid during the day. The overall weight of humanitarian cargoes was 1.8 tonnes," the center said in its regular daily news bulletin on Thursday.

The Russian center helped deliver two humanitarian convoys with United Nations cargoes to the settlements of Tel Gehab and Mutaya in the province of Daraa.

A total of 20.4 tonnes of food products received by the Syrian authorities from the United Nations were dropped from Russian warplanes to the city of Der ez-Zor besieged by Islamic State militants.

The Russian Defense Ministry declared the establishment of the reconciliation center on February 23, 2016. It is headquartered at the Hmeimim air base, Latakia province. The center was set up in line with agreements reached by Russia and the United States to facilitate the negotiations between the Syrian government and opposition and to organize humanitarian deliveries.
