TEHRAN, March 26. /TASS/. Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and President Hassan Rouhani attach special importance to relations with Russia, Iranian Ambassador to Moscow Mehdi Sanaei told IRNA news agency.
"Tehran, Moscow relations are beyond bilateral or even regional situation and anti-terrorist cooperation in Syria has become a role model in international arena," the ambassador said ahead of Rouhani’s visit to Moscow on March 27-28.
The policies of Russia and Iran towards the Syrian crisis reduced tensions and conflicts, while foreign interference into the region caused complicated situation in Syria, Libya and Iraq, he said.
The success of approaches and achievements of regional cooperation between Tehran and Moscow showed that special ties have been established, Sanaei noted.
The ambassador expressed confidence that the two countries will witness even more development in the mutual ties.
