TOKYO, March 20. /TASS/. The Japanese-Russian consultations involving foreign and defense ministers, planned for Monday, are a significant event, the Japanese Defense Minister Tomomi Inada said at a meeting with her Russian counterpart Sergei Shoigu.
"In order to take measures concerning security sphere, bilateral cooperation is necessary. I believe the two-plus-two consultations to be a significant event as it is the first ministerial meeting of this kind to be held in four years," Inada said.
"I would like to exchange views on defense policies and the situation in the region," the Japanese defense minister added.
