BERLIN, March 16. /TASS/. German Chancellor Angela Merkel will arrive in Moscow on May 2 and is expected to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Bavarian state premier Horst Seehofer said, according to the DPA news agency.
Seehofer is currently in Moscow and is due to meet with Putin in the Kremlin, presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.
Russia’s government has not confirmed the report so far. "We have seen this report. You know, we inform of the upcoming trips only when there is an appropriate moment," the press service of the cabinet told TASS.
On Wednesday, Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov told reporters that the date of Merkel’s visit to Russia had been agreed. However, he did not announce the date. German government spokesman Steffen Seibert, in turn, declined to confirm the fact that the date of the visit had been agreed.
