Russia reports ten ceasefire violations in Syria — Defense Ministry

Turkish officers reported 10 ceasefire violations in the provinces of Hama, Damascus, Aleppo, Latakia and Daraa

MOSCOW, February 28. /TASS/. Russian specialists reported ten ceasefire violations in Syria in the past day, the Russian center for reconciliation of the warring parties in Syria said in its regular daily news bulletin posted on the official website of the Russian Defense Ministry on Tuesday.

"During the day, Russian officers in the Russian-Turkish joint commission set up to monitor ceasefire violations in Syria reported 10 ceasefire violations in the provinces of Damascus, Latakia and Idlib," the center said.

"Turkish officers reported 10 ceasefire violations in the provinces of Hama, Damascus, Aleppo, Latakia and Daraa," the report said, adding that the Russian side confirmed none of these violations.

Apart from that, according to the Russian center, the settlement of Arbin in Damascus province joined the ceasefire in the past day. Thus, the overall number of Syrian settlements that have joined the reconciliation process has reached 1,278.

"Talks on joining cessation of hostilities were continued with armed opposition groups in the provinces of Aleppo, Damascus, Hama, Homs and al-Quneitra," the bulletin said.

The number of armed groups that declared their commitment to the ceasefire terms of the agreement on cessation of hostilities of February 27, 2016 has remained unchanged - 110. The number of settlements liberated from terrorists by the Syrian government troops also remained unchanged - 72.
