KUWAIT CITY, February 24. /TASS/. Iraq's Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi ordered airstrikes on positions of the Islamic State terrorist organization (outlawed in Russia) in Syria, the prime minister’s office said in a statement on Friday.
"The order to the (Iranian) Air Force command was to deliver airstrikes on the IS positions, including in Abu Kamal (city at border with Iraq) in Syria," the statement reads. The prime minister stressed the airstrikes would be targeted at positions of extremists "responsible for recent explosions in Baghdad."
