GENEVA, February 20. /TASS/. The Cairo group of the Syrian opposition has received an invitation from UN Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura to take part in talks in Geneva, where it intends to arrive as a separate delegation, a representative of the Cairo platform of the opposition Jihad Makdissi told TASS on Monday.
"Yes, we did [receive invitations], we are going to attend," he said. Asked to specify whether representatives of the group intended to work in Geneva as part of some delegation, Makdissi said "We are going to attend as a separate group".
In the previous rounds of the intra-Syrian talks, the Cairo group participated as part of the Moscow-Cairo group of the opposition.
