GENEVA, February 20. /TASS/. Invitations for the Geneva talks sent by the United Nations Special Envoy for Syria, Staffan de Mistura, stipulate that only the Riyadh group is a full-fledged participant of the Syrian opposition, a source familiar with preparations for the meeting told TASS.
"De Mistura has invited the delegation formed on February 10 in Riyadh as a delegation of the opposition to take part in the talks with the government," the source said. "Representatives of other opposition groups have been invited as experts and advisers - several people from each group."
On February 10, representatives of the opposition from the High Negotiations Committee (HNC), National Coalition for Syrian Revolution and Opposition Forces and also several armed groups, set up a delegation for participation in the Geneva talks.
President of the National Coalition for Syrian Revolution and Opposition Forces, also known as the Syrian National Coalition, Anas al-Abdah, earlier confirmed the delegation’s participation in the talks.
