BONN /Germany/, February 16. /TASS/. The first meeting between Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson has begun in the German city of Bonn on the sidelines of the G20 ministerial meeting.
Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on Wednesday that since it was the first meeting between Lavrov and Tillerson, the two diplomats would get acquainted with each other.
The meeting’s agenda includes bilateral relations as well as pressing global issues providing Moscow and Washington with an opportunity to cooperate.
"We have many issues to discuss, mainly those that have been touched upon by the two countries’ presidents during their recent telephone conversation. I expect us to outline the parameters of our further work on each of these issues," Lavrov said.
The talks are taking place in the Russian room for bilateral meetings.
