Turkish man kills Russian wife, children — consulate

Early reports said the man was about 60 years old, while his wife was 30

ANKARA, February 14./TASS/. Turkish national Muammer Gun has killed his Russian wife and two children and then committed suicide, sources from the Russian Consulate General in Antalya confirmed on Tuesday.

"Local police has informed us about what happened. Turkish national Muammer Gun poisoned two children and afterwards shot dead his wife Anna. They were Russian nationals," the sources told TASS.

"After committing this crime he shot himself, but before this he called to report it to the police," Vice Consul Alexei Shivanov said. He also said "the Consulate General has officially requested the police" for more details.

The tragedy occurred at their home in Aksu municipality in the east of Antalya. "So far we see it was a household crime," the diplomat said. Early reports said the man was about 60 years old, while his wife was 30.

According to some reports, the man pinned to the entrance door a note with information about relatives so that they could be found quickly.
