GENEVA, February 13. /TASS/. The formal start of intra-Syrian negotiations in Geneva is scheduled for February 23, Yara Sharif, a spokesperson for the Office of the Special Envoy for Syria told TASS on Monday.
"It is expected that delegations would arrive in Geneva on or about 20 February to enable prior consultations with the Special Envoy and his team before the formal start of intra-Syrian negotiations planned for 23 February 2017," Yara Sharif noted.
She also said that earlier in the day UN Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura sent invitations to participants in the intra-Syrian talks. "We can confirm that letters have been sent today and also that consultations are continuing," Yara Sharif said.
