A truck crashed into a crowded Christmas market in the central part of West Berlin on December 19, killing 12 people. The truck drove around 80 meters through the market.
The police preliminarily classified the incident as "an attack," but Interior Minister Thomas de Maiziere admitted that a terrorist attack is not ruled out.
