NEW YORK, December 19. /TASS/. Republican Donald Trump has secured more than 50% of electoral votes, the Associated Press reported on Monday.
He has already won 215 out of 270 votes he needs to formally win the US presidency.
Earlier in the day, an elector in Maine cast his vote for Bernie Sanders, who had lost the Democratic presidential nomination to Hillary Clinton, AP reported. Another elector in Minnesota has also refused to cast a vote for Clinton. Trump is set to win 306 of the 538 electoral votes.
