MOSCOW, December 16. /TASS/. United Nations Secretary General’s Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura is not living up to his mandate concerning the organization of intra-Syrian dialogue, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov told TASS on Thursday.

"United Nations Envoy Staffa de Mistura is falling short of his targets in this respect and we are seriously concerned about that," he said. "He has taken a pause. Long ago. And he had been promising for quite a long time to get back to this matter later," he added.

However, de Mistura has still not named "even a preliminary date when he thinks the political process can be resumed," the Russian diplomat noted. "We think he is not living up to his mandate as a special envoy," Ryabkov concluded.
