HMEYMIM (Syria), December 12. /TASS/. More than 13,000 citizens have been taken from Aleppo’s areas controlled by militants over the past 24 hours with the assistance of the Russian Center for Reconciliation of Opposing Parties in Syria, the center said on Monday.

"Over the past 24 hours 13,346 civilians, including 5,831 children, have been taken from the areas of Aleppo remaining under control of militants with the assistance of the Russian Center for Reconciliation of Opposing Parties," the center said.

All of them stay in special humanitarian centers and are provided with hot meals and medical assistance.

A total of 728 militants have laid down arms and entered the western part of the city.

The Russian servicemen of the International Mine Action Center continued the effort to clear the quarters of eastern Aleppo of mines. "Over the past 24 hours they cleared of mines the territory of 7.1 ha, a school, a mosque, a kindergarten, a police station and also around 3.5 km of roads," the center said.

The center monitors round-the-clock how civilians are escaping the besieged areas and broadcasts live stream of the process on the website of the Russian Defense Ministry.
