Japan looks to Russia’s further constructive role in Syria

MOSCOW, December 3. /TASS/. Japan expects that Russia will continue to play a constructive role in Syria, Japanese Foreign Ministry’s Deputy Press Secretary Masato Otaka told a news conference on Saturday.

"We have looked at the situation in Syria. At the talks, Minister Fumio Kishida spoke of his deep concern over the humanitarian situation there to Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov," Otaka said. "It is crucial to achieve a political solution to resolve it."

"We would like Russia to carry on with its constructive role in Syria in the future," the diplomat added.
