ROSTOV-ON-DON, November 25. /TASS/. Ukraine’s rejecting its off-bloc status is a big mistake not only for the country but also for security in Europe and in the world, Ukraine’s former President Viktor Yanukovich told a news conference on Friday.
"Why did we opt for the off-bloc status? Because this issues was not only Ukraine’s domestic affair, it was a factor stability in Europe, and as we see it now, in the world," he said.
He substantiated his words by argument of US former Secretary of State, Henry Kissinger, who sees Ukraine a bridge between Europe and Russia.
Hence, in his opinion, it should not join NATO.
