MOSCOW, November 20. /TASS/. Illegal armed groups have violated the ceasefire in Syria 41 times in the past 24 hours, the Russian center for reconciliation of the opposing sides said in its daily news bulletin posted on the Russian defense ministry’s website on Saturday.
In the Damascus region armed groups, which report themselves to Jaysh al-Islam, carried out fire from homemade multiple missile launchers, mortars and small arms on the settlements of Kafr-Batna, Bleliye, al-Kasa and Bloudan, a road near the settlement of Douma and the al-Abbasiyyin stadium in the settlement of Jobar.
Detachments of the Syrian Free Army shelled the district of Hay al-Ansari in the city of Aleppo and the settlement of Kara Jahez in the Latakia region. The Ahrar ash-Sham group’s units opened fire on the settlement of Ain al-Kantara and positions of government forces on Abu Ali mountain.
Terrorist groups Jabhat Fateh ash-Sham (former name - Jabhat al-Nusra) and Islamic State (both are banned in Russia) shelled the settlements of Shufra and al-Hader in the Aleppo province, the districts of Leramon, Dahiya al-Assad, Ashrafiya, Hay ash-Sheikh Maqsood, Manyan, Suleiman-Halyabi, al-Maidam, Sheikh Said, the Castello shopping mall, the Hikma school, the area around the former military school, the gas plant, the al-Assad military academy and the paperboard plant in the city of Aleppo with homemade multiple missile launchers, anti-tank grenade launchers, gun artillery, mortars and small arms.
In the Damascus province, the populated locality of Jobar, the districts of Mohajirin and al-Mazraa in the city of Damascus, the al-Wafideen camp and Ibn-al-Walid hospital, positions of government forces on Tell Kaukab mountain. The settlements of Suran (in the Hama region) and Harfa (in the Quneitra region) were targeted by militants.
"Russia’s Aerospace Force and Syria’s Air Force have not been delivering strikes on opposition armed units that had announced the cessation of hostilities and reported their location to the Russian or U.S. reconciliation centers," the bulletin said.
The Russian Defense Ministry declared the establishment of the reconciliation center on February 23. It is headquartered at the Hmeimim air base, Latakia province. The center was set up in line with agreements reached by Russia and the United States to facilitate the negotiations between the Syrian government and opposition and to organize humanitarian deliveries.
