MINSK, November 18. /TASS/. The military-political situation in the east-European region is characterized by growing tension, which requires improved management of the Collective Rapid Reaction Force (KSOR) of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, Belarus’s Defense Ministry said on Friday after a conference in Minsk, which was devoted to management of the KSOR multi-national contingents.

"The conference participants said the military-political situation in the east-European region of the collective security is characterized by growing tension and negative tendencies in the international and regional security," the defense ministry said. "These and other factors make it necessary to review the views and approaches to organization of CSTO KSOR’s management."

Representatives of the CSTO Joint Staff and military authorities of the Organization member countries came to the conclusion "development and improvement of managing the KSOR multi-national contingents is a priority task for all the CSTO member countries."

"This management should be based on a common approach and plan, in a common management system under direction of coordinated control," the Belarusian defense ministry said. The conference participants offered several recommendations, implementation of which will favor "further defense capabilities of the member countries’ armed forces and improvement of the CSTO collective security system," the ministry said.
