Reconciliation agreements signed with 6 more Syrian settlements — Russian Defense Ministry

A total of 47 ceasefire violations by illegal armed groups were reported during the day in Syria

MOSCOW, November 11. /TASS/. Reconciliation agreements were signed during the day with representatives of six more settlements in Syria, the Russian Center for reconciliation of the warring parties in Syria said in its regular daily bulletin posted on the Russian Defense Ministry’s official website on Friday.

"During the day, reconciliation agreement were signed with representatives of six settlements, including four — in the province of Hama, and two — in the province of Latakia. The number of settlements joining the reconciliation process has reached 924," the center said.

Talks on joining the regime of cessation of hostilities were continued with field commanders of armed opposition groups in the settlement of Muaddamyet al-Shih in the province of Damascus and commanders of armed opposition groups in the provinces of Homs, Hama, Aleppo and al-Quneitra, according to the bulletin.

"The number illegal armed groups that declared their commitment to the ceasefire terms remains unchanged — 69," the center said.

Ceasefire violations

A total of 47 ceasefire violations by illegal armed groups were reported during the day in Syria, including 22 — in the province of Aleppo, 21 — in the province of Damascus, one — in the province of Latakia, one — in the province of Hama, and two — in the province of al-Quneitra, according to the Russian center.

"Armed groups which have declared their joining the regime of cessation of hostilities conducted fire from home-made multiple missile launcher systems, mortars and firearms at the settlement of Azizi in the province of Aleppo and Aleppo’s district of Al-Masharqa and Salah al-Din; at the settlements of Jobar, Harasta, Douma and height 612 in the province of Damascus and Damascus district of Mhajirin; and at the settlement of Qardaha in the province of Latakia," the center said.

Paramilitary terrorist groups shelled from multiple missile launcher systems, artillery systems, tanks, mortars and firearms the settlements of Bakirtaya and Shurfa in the province of Aleppo and Aleppo’s districts of Manyan, Arian, Sheikh Maksoud, Leramon, 3000, 1070, Suleiman Halabi, the Al-Assad military academy, the Castello trade center, the Hikma school, and the area near a cardboard factory.

"In the province of Damascus, terrorists shelled the settlements of Hawsh-Nasr, Arbil, Jobar, Kabun, Harasta, Douma and the al-Wafidin camp," the Russian center reported. "In the province of Hama, terrorists shelled the settlement of Suran. In the province of al-Quneitra, the settlements of Durin and Harfa came under shelling by terrorists."

No air strikes were delivered by the Russian air group and the Syrian air force at armed opposition group which have declared cessation of hostilities and informed the Russian or US reconciliation centers about their locations, as follows from the bulletin.

Humanitarian aid

According to the Russian center, efforts are continued to relieve the humanitarian situation in Syria. Two humanitarian actions were conducted during the day. Thus, about two tonnes of humanitarian cargoes were delivered to the settlement of Dimas in the province of Damascus, and one tonne was delivered to the settlement of Al-Ashrafiya in the province of Aleppo. Hot meals and living essentials distribution outlets are open for civilians leaving Aleppo’s neighborhoods controlled by illegal armed groups, the bulletin says.

Russian reconciliation center

The Russian Defense Ministry declared the establishment of the reconciliation center on February 23. It is headquartered at the Hmeymim air base, Latakia province. The center was set up in line with agreements reached by Russia and the United States to facilitate the negotiations between the Syrian government and opposition and to organize humanitarian deliveries.
