MOSCOW, November 9. /TASS/. Reconciliation agreements have been inked with four settlements in Syria, with three in the Hama region and one in the Latakia region, over the past 24 hours, the Russian Center for reconciliation of the warring parties in Syria said in its daily news bulletin posted on the Russian Defense Ministry’s official website on Wednesday.
"The number of populated localities that joined the reconciliation process has increased to 914," the bulletin says. "Talks on joining the cessation of hostilities are ongoing with field commanders of illegal armed units in the settlement of Muadamiyet al-Sham in the Damascus region and with groups of armed opposition in the regions of Homs, Hama, Aleppo and Quneitra."
The number of armed groups that pledged their commitments to accepting and fulfilling the conditions of the cessation of hostilities remained unchanged — 69.
Illegal armed groups have violated the ceasefire in Syria 48 times in the past 24 hours, the Russian center said. Armed groups that have declared joining the regime of cessation of hostilities, carried out fire from homemade multiple missile launchers, anti-aircraft mounts, cannon artillery, mortars and small arms in the city of Aleppo — at the Hay al-Ansari districts; in the Damascus province — at the populated localities of Douma, Aisem-Fauka, Mazraat Mahmoud, Bleliye, Jobar, Bala al-Kadima, Harasta and height 612; in the Latakia province — at the populated localities of Tauma, Ayn al-Kantari, Kinsibba, Dagdan, Sandran, Rasha, height 629 and Abu-Ali mountain.
Terrorist detachments carried out strikes from home-made multiple missile launchers, tanks, mortars and firearms in the Aleppo province at the settlements of Ansar, the districts of Khamdaniya-4, ‘3000,’ Karm al-Turab, Benjamin, ‘1070’, al-Ramusi, Leramon, the al-Assad military academy (twice), Castello shopping mall (twice), the area around the paperboard plant and the former military school in the city of Aleppo.
In the Damascus region, in the populated locality of Jobar (three times), Arbin (four times), Hawsh Nasri (twice), Kabun and the districts of Adavi and the al-Wafideen camp in the settlement of Douma came under shelling. In the Hama region, militants shelled the settlement of Mahardah (twice).
"Russia’s Aerospace Force and Syria’s Air Force have not delivered airstrikes at opposition armed units that had announced the cessation of hostilities and reported their location to the Russian or US reconciliation centers," the bulletin said.
Three humanitarian events were held in Syria’s regions over the past day. Humanitarian aid was distributed among civilians in the populated locality of Masyaf in the Hama region (two tonnes), in the populated locality of Marj Shili in the Latakia region (about one tonne), at two schools in the al-Khalidiya district in the city of Aleppo (three tonnes).
Special centers keep operating in the city of Aleppo, providing hot meals and daily necessities to civilians who are leaving the districts controlled by illegal armed groups.
The Russian Defense Ministry declared the establishment of the reconciliation center on February 23. It is headquartered at the Hmeymim air base, Latakia province. The center was set up in line with agreements reached by Russia and the United States to facilitate the negotiations between the Syrian government and opposition and to organize humanitarian deliveries.
